The BCCI has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming India Tour of Ireland series. Jasprit Bumrah returns to the side after a long absence from injury to lead the squad. Following the conclusion of the India Tour of West Indies, the Men in Blue will travel to Ireland, similar to last year to play a 3-match T20 series. While the senior team members have all been rested as they prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup and the ICC World Cup, this tournament serves a great purpose for the players who are returning from their injuries.
The biggest name in the lot is that of Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian pacer has been missing actions for quite a few months. After having suffered a back stress fracture, Bumrah went under the knife and continued his preparation at the National Cricket Academy building his match fitness. He is now back in the squad and he will be leading the young Men in Blue.
On the other hand, 2 other senior members who are also eyeing a return to the Indian team, ahead of the ICC World Cup, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have not been included in the squad. It can be clearly understood that the duo are not match-ready as they continue building on their fitness at the NCA.

However, it is good news for Prasidh Krishna. The medium pacer who like Bumrah suffered a stress fracture continued his rehab at the NCA and returns to the Indian squad. Krishna however, marked his return to competitive cricket with a 4-wicket haul in the KSCA T20 tournament.
Other than that is the usual young squad, also known as India’s B-string squad that is traveling to Ireland. It will however be interesting to see Sanju Samson in the series.
The Rajasthan Royals is already fighting for his spot in the team with Ishan Kishan. With KL Rahul being the designated ODI keeper, strong performances is needed from Samson to seal his spot in the World Cup squad.
