1. Who will slot in at number three and number four?

Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant batted at number 3 and 4 positions in the T20 series against South Africa. The duo though are unavailable for the series against Ireland. India though has Suryakumar Yadav back after injury. The right-hand batter will straightaway slot in at the number 3 position. Yadav has scored 351 runs in 14 T20Is for India at a superb strike-rate of 165.57.

At number 4 India has few options like Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, and Rahul Tripathi. Either one of us will play against Ireland in the 1^st T20I. Hooda was part of the T20 series against South Africa. So he might get a chance. Add to that he provides an off-spin option too, which Tripathi and Samson don’t.

Who will don the wicketkeeping gloves?

India have three options for the wicketkeeping role – Dinesh Karthik, Ishan Kishan, and Sanju Samson. Kishan and Karthik did well in the T20Is against South Africa. While the former was the leading run-getting, the latter finished games brilliantly at a phenomenal strike rate of 156. Karthik will most likely be the man behind the stumps due to his superior wicketkeeping skills.

Sanju Samson might not get the gloves due to a lack of match practice. Kishan will open with Gaikwad and the management might not give the southpaw the gloves.

Will Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh finally get to make their debuts?

Both Malik and Arshdeep warmed benches for the series against South Africa. India’s first-choice pace bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Avesh Khan picked up six, seven, and four wickets respectively. Also, Dravid and stand-in-captain Pant decided to stick with the same combination of bowlers even when India were trailing 0-2 against SA.

Against Ireland though, either Arshdeep or Malik or both the players might get to play the games. The management might give rest to Avesh and Harshal.

INDIA vs Ireland 1st T20 LIVE – Ganguly to attend matches: Meanwhile BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will attend India vs Ireland T20 Series in Dublin.

The board president has decided to watch the Hardik Pandya-led team in action LIVE from the ground. The 1st T20 of 2 match series will be played this Sunday.

Ganguly has confirmed the development. The first match will be played on Sunday, followed by the final next Tuesday. Ganguly will attend both the T20 matches.

The BCCI president will leave for Ireland on Saturday and will watch both the T20 Games from the ground.
