IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli’s century drought continues, fails to convert his 50 into hundred: The Englishmen served Indian skipper Virat Kohli with utmost hospitality- allowed him to score a half-century and dished him to the pavilion in the next five balls.  Virat Kohli stood tall for the Indian side but couldn’t take it any further during the ongoing third Test against England at Headingley. Tempted to play a length delivery outside the off, Kohli fell play to Ollie Robinson’s delivery and departed after scoring 55 runs.

Clearly, the senior Indian player is having a terrible time in the English conditions in the ongoing England tour. Kohli has edged the outside off stump ball for 5th time in the series and has been dismissed in a similar fashion during all of his outings.

It seems to have become a movie on the loop- the same outswing on fifth stump, same drive by Kohli, same results i.e caught by the keeper, 1st slip or 2nd. Clearly, Kohli & the outside-off edges are in a strong relationship to trouble the Indian player.

By the dint of actions on the field, it is evident that Kohli is all exposed to the seamers now. A genuine fast bowler targets the outside off spot, tames Kohli, makes him feel terrible and finally outplays him.

No doubt that Ollie Robinson was in fine form with the second ball on day four’s play where he defined Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant’s way to the pavilion.

During India’s second innings in the ongoing third Test against England at Headingley, Kohli has smashed a half-century. With this, Kohli has smashed his first fifty of the series and his 26th of the overall Test career.

In his fifty, Kohli lent monumental hands alongside Cheteshwar Pujara as the duo wove a 100-run stand between the two.
