IND vs ENG LIVE: Jasprit Bumrah ROCKS England’s Top-Order, Scalps 4-wicket haul in Opening spell- Watch VideoIt has been an excellent decision by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to opt to bowl first seeing the grass cover and the cloud cover at the Oval. With Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah starting India’s spell, England was unable to tackle the swing attack of the Indian pacers. England fielded a very strong Playing XI with Joe Root, and Ben Stokes making a comeback to the ODI squad.
But it was Jasprit Bumrah who had the last laugh when he went on to dismiss two English batters on his first over. Bumrah began his charge on the second over of the game where he registered a 2-wicket maiden over from him. Bumrah’s first victim was Jason Roy. With a pitched delivery outside the off, Roy attempted to drive the ball to the covers, however with the seam movement, the ball underwent a huge inside edge to rock the stumps.

The next batter to bite the dust was Joe Root. Bumrah tricked Root into playing a late shot with an extra bounce, which nicked the bat and safely landed in the hands of Rishabh Pant. The third batter to fall prey to Bumrah’s antics was the danger man, Jonny Bairstow. The only batter dismissed by Bumrah to have not scored a duck.

Bumrah continued his charge and dismissed Bairstow with a thick outside edge. Once again Rishabh Pant takes a stunning catch as the Men in Blue wreak havoc on the English batters. Next to join the others back in the pavilion was Liam Livingstone. While the others were dismissed trying to defend, Livingstone attempted an aggressive haymaking shot. The ball had an extra swing and went through the batter to crash into the leg stumps, thereby bringing the 4th wicket for Bumrah.
Bowler Brydon Chase then became Bumrah’s fifth victim. An exceptional delivery from Bumrah castled the bowler as he too made his way back to the pavilion. The final wicket came in the form of David Willey as Bumrah dislodges the leg stump to bring an end to England’s proceedings.
