Kohli has struggled for form with his century drought stretching to almost three years. Virat last scored a century in 2019, and his place in the team has now up for question. Chasing 247, the 33-year-old the chance to anchor a straightforward chase. However, the former captain fell for just 16 in top order collapse.

Not only do Azam and Kohli come from countries with political differences between them, the duo have long tussled for records in limited overs cricket. The latter has set benchmarks throughout his 14-year international career scoring over 12000 runs in ODI while being amongst the top scorers in T20Is. Azam is in touching distance of the 33-year-old’s T20I records and has kept chugging away at Kohli’s ODI records so far.
The duo will once again lock horns in the upcoming Asia Cup, which will be Kohli’s comeback to the side. The former India captain will not feature in the series against West Indies, but will feature in the multi-nation tournament in Sri Lanka. The last time the two teams met, Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup in UAE.
