You can call Rishabh Pant a regular offender, as far as getting out in the 90s in tests is concerned. Make no mistake about it: Rishabh Pant’s knock was an excellent one in Mirpur, but the bottom line is that he failed to convert it into a three-figure score for the sixth time in his career.

In just 33 tests and 55 innings, Rishabh Pant has been dismissed in the 90s on six occasions. He has missed out on hundreds against the West Indies, Australia, Sri Lanka, England, and now Bangladesh.

It is now that Pant doesn’t know how to score a hundred. The 24-year-old has five test results against his name. He already has a ton in Australia, England, and South Africa in cricket’s oldest format. His average is in the mid-40s, which is excellent for a batsman who plays at number 5 or below.

Maybe, at this stage of his career, Pant might not ruin the fact that he couldn’t convert his 90s into a three-figure score. Surely, by the time he finishes his career, the wicketkeeper batsman is likely to look back and deliberate on what could have been had he converted those 90s into a ton.

For Indian cricket, it would be highly beneficial if Pant gets over these nervous 90s and starts scoring big tons on a consistent basis, both for himself and for Team India.
