According to head coach Russell Domingo, a final call on Shakib’s availability will be taken on Wednesday morning.
The all-rounder left on an ambulance from Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. “It is nothing serious. Since there were no other transportation available so he was sent by ambulance,” a BCB official told The Daily Star.
“He had some stiffness and he went for a checkup, he added.
Shakib later returned to the stadium with the team training at the ZACS. Shakib did not train yesterday as well and at the time of filing this report did not return to the practice session.
He stays doubtful for the 1st test as no clarity was given by BCB about his availability.
IND vs BAN LIVE: Shakib Al Hasan & KL Rahul unveils trophy for TEST SERIESThe Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium will host the first of the two-match series from Wednesday. Not only Shakib but Bangladesh team’s PREMIER FAST Bowler Taskin Ahmed is also doubtful for the 1st TEST.
According to Taskin himself, he is not sure whether he is available for the opening Test. He is still rehabilitating from a back injury that forced him to be rested from the opening two ODIs before he returned for the last game of that series.
“The team management is concerned about my workload build-up. I have just returned from an injury, so I am working on increasing workload build-up, fitness and bowling load,” Taskin said.
“If I can fulfill the load before this game, they may think of playing me. If not, then I might not play this Test. I might be playing the second Test in that case. I have spoken to them about it. I am following my workload plan,” he said.
