Cameron green unlikely for Nagpur Test – Green is currently part of Australia’s training camp in Sydney for the last two days. He will meet the surgeon with the hope that the bone has healed properly. If not, his future in the series will be in jeopardy.
If Green is unable to bowl then Australia would look to play him as a specialist batsman. The 23-year-old brings balance to Australia’s batting line up and that is why McDonald values his batting over bowling.
“We value his batting first and foremost really, he’s a batter in our top six and we value that, his bowling is a bonus. A very nice bonus,” McDonald said.

Australia team’s bowling combination conundrum –
If Green is unable to bowl or play in the opening match, the Australian team will have to decide whether to go with a combination of two spinners and two pacers or to go with their traditional strength which is an extra quick bowler. However Australia coach , McDonald all but ruled out playing three specialist spinners. Australia will be holding a camp before the opening Test and the Australian coach wants his bowling unit to be prepared for rigours of Indian condition
He added, “There is a lack of loading there, and one of the key reasons around us getting into this camp early is to make sure that we’re ready to go for the rigours of what the bowling unit [is] going to encompass”.
