“I am absolutely unaware of Jai Shri Ram chants for Shami. I just heard it for the first time. I don’t know what has happened there,” Rohit was quoted as saying in the post-match press conference.

“We don’t engage with trolls, and engaging them would only encourage them. Platforms have already taken down many such comments,” one official said. This statement was given by BCCI when Shami faced wrath from the fans owing to his dismal performance against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. At that time, the then skipper Virat Kohli also remained silent on the matter, and now Rohit also choose avoid the question on Jai Shree Ram chants aimed at Shami. However, the GCA are likely to take action on the matter, as there is no place for trolls in sports.
