Jadeja, who had never followed anyone on Instagram until Lyon, captioned the photo with the phrase “Following my friend @nath.lyon421 for 24 hours”. He added a few smiley faces on his Insta story.

On his personal Instagram, Lyon also posted a screenshot of Jadeja’s story.

So the reason behind this Insta story saga is actually funny.

Nathan Lyon in the 1st innings told Jadeja: “You don’t even follow me on Instagram, I was waiting for your follow. You don’t follow anyone else. Can you follow?” This conversation was recorded on the stump mic.

And now Jadeja has fulfilled Lyon’s wish and followed him on Instagram.

On Sunday, the southpaw all-rounder, who returned to international cricket after an injury, went on to win a second player of the match award and currently has 17 wickets in two Tests.

Jadeja’s match haul of 10 wickets for 110 runs was his 12th five-wicket haul in tests. His previous best performance came in a 2016 Chennai game against England, going 7-49.

After the game, Jadeja made a subtle jab at the batters from Australia for constantly attempting to sweep him. Six Australian batsmen were dismissed while attempting to sweep in their second essay.
