We expect him to be fit before the ODI series against Australia. But it will depend on his progress. At present, he is not fit,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport on Saturday.

“Jasprit needs to be at 100% for the Australia series. But he is still a month away, I fear. Back injuries take time and rehab is a lengthy process. At this moment, he is unfit for selection and how long it will take for him to return is still doubtful. At no point, he will be rushed back,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
Shreyas Iyer Injury – Another injured star Shreyas Iyer is also racing against time to be fit for Australia series. He is on the squad for the first two Tests against Australia. However, he is still at the NCA, recovering from his back injury. Selectors have asked for a report on Shreyas and they will take a call on the replacement this week.
“We will know in a day or two about Shreyas. His recovery is going well. But whether he will be available for the first two Tests is still not clear. Nitin will submit injury assessment report next week and we will know then,” the official said.
