IND vs AUS Delhi Test: Cameron Green Injury – Red light or Green Light? Battered and bruised, Australia Cricket Team are in a huge dilemma over all-rounder Cameron Green. Even though the star has returned to practice in all batting, bowling and fielding, the team management does not want to rush his return. Instead, they will wait for the team to reach Delhi and only after the two practice sessions, they will take a call. Green is recovering from a finger injury and the team doubts whether he can field or bowl at full tilt. Follow India vs Australia LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
Before travelling to Delhi, Australia had an optional practice session at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Monday. Cameron Green batted, bowled and even had a short fielding session. But as things stand, he is still not considered at 100%.

Green was ruled out of the 1st Test at the 11th hour as his recovery from the finger surgery wasn’t adequate. While he has no problem batting, the finger hasn’t healed enough to bowl and field at full tilt.
However, a lot is riding on Cameron Green’s fitness. If he is ruled out, Pat Cummins will have to fall back on two spinners even though Delhi is spin-friendly. With Mitchell Starc set to come back, Cummins will form the pace partnership. But in that case, he won’t have the coveted third spinner Australia are looking at.
Australia face selection dilemma for 2nd Test:
- Back against the wall after a humiliating innings and 132-run loss in Nagpur, Australia are aiming to bounce back.
- Australia have called up left-arm spinner Matt Kuhnemann for the Test series as a replacement for Mitchell Swepson.
- However, Kuhnemann’s place is still not guaranteed as Australia are facing a selection conundrum.
- Even though Mitchell Starc is fit, Australia want Cameron Green to play to provide seam support.
- If Green is fit, Australia can look at including him in place of Peter Handscomb to have bowling depth.
- Starc would replace Scott Boland.
- But if Green is ruled out, Australia won’t risk going in with 6 batting options.
- Hence, three spinners in the Playing XI will be a difficult decision to make.

Scott Boland who went wicketless in Nagpur has already made an honest confession that Australia won’t go in with three seamers in Delhi.
“Bringing in someone like Mitchell Starc, who’s a gun in these conditions and bowled really well in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Hopefully, I made the selectors’ job a little tougher than it originally was, but I don’t think we’re going to play three fast bowlers. There’s only going to be two spots up for grabs I reckon,” Boland told Fox News.
