After nearly one year, Rohit Sharma and company will take on Babar Azam’s Pakistan to reignite the age-old rivalry. India will square off against Pakistan in their tournament opener of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on October 23, 2022.
Both teams will be looking to get their World Cup campaign off to a flyer.
But it’s not just the excitement of the match, fans also have their one eye up in the sky as they are currently deliberating permutations and checking what will happen to their tickets if India and Pakistan got called off due to rain.
IND PAK Match TICKETS: T20 World Cup 2022 ticket prices
Tickets for a group stage match start at AU$5 (Rs. 255) for children and AU$20 (Rs. 1,021) for adults. Children can attend the title match for AU$20, but adults must pay a minimum of AU$125 (around Rs. 6,300). Fans are entitled to a 100% refund under the COVID-19 return policy of the tournament if a match is postponed, moved, or canceled.
According to a Daily Jang report, the ICC will suffer a loss of $7 million if the match gets canceled due to weather conditions. The spectators will be fully refunded even if the match gets shortened to less than 10 overs.
Another reason why the spectators will be refunded is that there isn’t any reserve day scheduled for the group stage matches.

Such is the craze of this match that the cost of an AirBnB room has been increased by four times its usual cost in Melbourne. Fans must pay an additional Rs 12,000 for cleaning fees for a three-night stay. Of course, the hotels are overbooked. But only time will tell if fans will get to experience India vs Pakistan clash at MCG on Sunday or not.
The eighth ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is set to be the biggest and the best yet, with 16 teams playing 45 matches in seven Australian cities between 16 October and 13 November.
