India vs NewZealand – Kane Williamson to miss 3rd T20: Williamson will rejoin the BLACKCAPS on Wednesday when the ODI squad assembles in Auckland ahead of the series opener at Eden Park on Friday.
Coach Gary Stead said the medical appointment had nothing to do with Williamson’s historic elbow complaint.
“Kane’s been trying to get this booked in for a while now, but unfortunately it hasn’t been able to fit into our schedule.” Stead said.
“The health and well-being of our players and staff is paramount, and we look forward to seeing him in Auckland.”
Stead said Chapman was excited to be back with the squad after featuring in the recent T20 World Cup and Tri Series in Christchurch.
“He’s a quality player who offers good versatility in the order.” Stead confirmed Tim Southee will captain the side for the third and final match at McLean Park on Tuesday night, 7:30pm start NZT.

Series Moves to NAPIER: The first match in Wellington was a washout; there was not a ball bowled in the match. A full match was played at the Bay Oval, contrary to what was forecast in Mount Maunganui, where luck favored India. The Blackcaps were bowled out for 126 as Hardik Pandya’s team scored a staggering 191 riding on Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant 111 off 51 deliveries.
According to New Zealand’s Met service, the highest temperature will be 28 degrees, while the lowest reading will be 14 degrees.
In Napier, it is still relatively warm outside, and a forecast for the night calls for 19% of rain, most of which will fall outside of the match hours. The percentage of clouds is 97%.
IND vs NZ 3rd T20: McLean Park Pitch Report
The McLean Park pitch is recognized as one of the best batting surfaces in New Zealand. Only 5 T20Is have been played at this venue, and the high average score shows how batsmen-friendly it is. As the game goes on, the pitch sometimes becomes slower. The bowlers can take advantage of this ground’s larger size and hope that some of their shots will reach the fielders.
