Shami scored a brilliant fifty with the bat while with the ball he took crucial wickets to turn the game on its head on Day 5. Tailender Jasprit Bumrah also scored crucial 30 runs and picked up wickets which helped India register their third win at Lord’s.

IND beat ENG at Lord’s: Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami batted their skin in the 2nd Test against England at Lord’s on Monday to turn the game on its head. England bowlers were frustrated with Shami and Bumrah’s defence and shot-making. Mark Wood also tried bouncers against Bumrah and Shami but both the batters were just not ready to give away their wickets cheaply. Shami & Bumrah’s 89-run partnership is India’s highest 9th wicket partnership in Test.

Ishant Sharma the Lord of Lord’s
IND beat ENG at Lord’s: Ishant Sharma is one of the most experienced pacers in the Indian team right now. On Day 5 of the Lord’s Test Sharma picked up crucial wickets of Jonny Bairstow and Haseeb Hameed. He has played 14 matches in England in which he has picked 51 wickets which also includes 2 five-wicket hauls. In 2014, when India won the Test at Lord’s it was his seven-wicket haul that helped India win the game.
In the first innings, he removed Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran. With these early wickets, India is right back into the game and will look to clinch their third win at Lord’s.

IND beat ENG at Lord’s: India pacer Jasprit Bumrah picked up the crucial wicket of England captain Joe Root, who scored a brilliant knock of 180 runs in the first innings. Root was the most important wicket in England team as he was the only batsman who looked in good touch. Bumrah bowled superb in-swinger against Root, the English batsman tried to defend it but edged it to Virat Kohli in the first slip. This wicket turned the match on its head.
Rahane and Pujara’s crucial partnership
IND beat ENG at Lord’s: Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane took the stand after India lost three early wickets in form of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the first Test. Rahane, in particular, went on to smash a fifty off 125 deliveries. Meanwhile, Pujara showed immense resilience as he scored 45 runs off 206 deliveries. Pujara along with Rahane saw out the first six rather easily and it was the English bowlers who were put under a bit of pressure by the duo. Both batsmen did not relent by the body blows and short pitch delivery, as they kept on chipping away at the runs, and in the end, it was ensured that India took the honours in the second session. This was a crucial partnership for India in order to win the Test.
KL Rahul’s Century
India opening batsman KL Rahul hit a brilliant century in the 2nd Test against England at the historic ground of Lord’s on Thursday. This was Rahul’s 6th Test century and 2nd in England. The century at Lord’s will be a very special one for Rahul as he achieved a landmark that even greats of Indian cricket Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar could not achieve. (India vs England 2nd Test Live). He slammed 129 runs off 250 balls which included 12 fours and a six. He departed off Ollie Robinson caught out to Dominic Sibley on opening over of Day 2.
Mohammed Siraj’s 8 wickets in the Match
Just like any other performance mentioned above, Siraj’s 8 wickets in the match played a key role in India’s historic win at Lord’s. He picked up four wickets in the first innings and four more in the second innings. Siraj has become the latest bowling sensation of India. He played key role in The Gabba Test and now in Lord’s Test.
