It was one of those, where all the India A batters looked at home, getting off to good starts. The home team started at 156/1, but started on the backfoot with Ruturaj Gaikwad getting out for 21. India A had only added one run to the overnight score.

But, India A batters Easwaran and Patidar delivered their A game, scoring runs at a brisk rate. The former also completed his ton and there was a sense of urgency with both the batters dealing in boundaries and piling up the pressure. They added 104 runs for the third wicket partnership.

As Sarfaraz Khan joined Patidar in the middle, runs did not stop. Both the players scored runs in a decent place, but Khan lost his wicket for 36 runs. They were still trailing by 139 runs, but then the partnership between Patidar and Tilak Varma took the game away from the visitors.

THe two added an unbeaten partnership of 160-odd runs to help them cross New Zealand A’s score of 400 as well. IN fact, Varma was in his zone in the latter half of the day in Bengaluru. His innings of 132-ball 82 comprised of five fours and five sixes to put India A in good position.

On the other end, Patidar was continuing his good form as he remained unbeaten on 170 at stumps. With Sunday being the last day of the match, the game is surely heading for a draw.
