Former Pakistan Cricket Team World Cup winning captain and Former Prime Minister continues to be in prison after the Special Court postponed his hearing till 14th November. As per reports from The Pakistan Frontier, the ICC has invited Imran Khan to be present for the Winning Captains Ceremony.
But with Imran Khan in jail and his court hearing being postponed, it is highly unlikely that the former Pakistan Prime Minister will be able to travel to India for the World Cup ceremony.
Ever since his arrest Imran Khan has been in the district jail in Attock. But during his trial hearing, he has been kept at the Adiala Jail at Rawalpindi since 26th September when the trial commenced.
“Cipher case hearing at Adiala Prison (was) adjourned till Tuesday, November 14, without any proceedings,” said Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in a statement.
Imran Khan was arrested earlier this year for disclosing a secret cipher that was sent by the country’s embassy. With Imran being in jail and not getting a chance of getting bail, he is unlikely to be allowed to leave his country. He can apply for bail after the Pakistan elections concludes.
