India might be hosting a series of events in badminton, which is overall great for our players and sport in the country, but the arrangements are rather questionable. This is for the second time in as many weeks, that a player has complained about the pathetic conditions at the venues. Malaysian singles player Soong Joo Ven, who is in India to play the Guwahati Masters 2023, put out a tweet showing dirty, black water in his bathroom.
The WR-73, who lost to India’s Abhishek Saini at the ongoing Guwahati Masters 2023, captioned the video, “Imagine showering and brushing your teeth with this water here in India!!!”
Earlier, during the Syed Modi International 2023, a few players raised the issue of bad court conditions at the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium. Danish men’s doubles player Frederik Soegard and Singapore’s Wei Han Jessica Tan posted pictures of bird droppings. Jessica Tan also complained of the hall being foggy due to the dust.
