With the bat, New Zealand got off to a great start, hitting 200/3 in 20 overs. Devon Conway scored 92 runs off just 58 deliveries. With his 42 off 16 balls with five fours and three sixes, Finn Allen also provided the Kiwis an exhilarating start.
Australia was down by four wickets, and Stoinis was looking to pick up the pace as his team was chasing 201 runs. The all-rounder created space and was looking to drive inside out over cover. He chipped the ball into the air, leaving enough of area, but Phillips had other plans.
From the deep, Phillips sprinted across and dove for the ball. He then went two-handed and hung onto an unbelievable stormer.

The two teams had previously faced off in the World Cup final the year before, with Australia coming out on top to win their first championship.
After the game between the two teams, England will play Afghanistan later tonight. In the meantime, Team India will begin their campaign on Sunday with a thrilling matchup against bitter rivals Pakistan.
