The left-arm quick was swiftly embraced by India’s national setup, building on a successful IPL career, and he made the most of the chance as the team sought to bounce back from a disastrous 2021 T20 World Cup. Additionally, the 23-year-old didn’t falter when given the white ball in Powerplay and death overs, despite pressure and criticism on social media after poor showing at the Asia Cup 2022.
Performance at the T20 World Cup in Australia: His performance against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup is maybe his most enduring memory. Arshdeep’s pace and swing enabled him to remove Babar Azam with the first ball he faced leg before and dismiss Mohammad Rizwan in the following over. In the final overs, he came back to dismiss Asif Ali, ending with 3/32 from his four overs.
Marco Jansen, Ibrahim Zadran and Finn Allen make it to the Shortlist
South African left-arm seamer Marco Jansen strengthened the already potent bowling attack with 36 Test wickets throughout the season. Zadan from Afghanistan scored 367 runs in T20I and 431 runs in ODI, including three centuries. Allen had a fantastic year after playing in his maiden T20I in 2021. He scored 387 runs in ODIs and 411 runs in T20Is.
