ICC Media Rights Tender: Two Primary Concerns Addressed by ICC Commercial Team
- Concern 1: Will ICC Tender allow Joint BIDS for Broadcasting & Digital Rights? ICC Officials informed potential interested parties – that joint bids will be allowed. It is worth noting that BCCI recently in its IPL Media Rights Tender has disallowed the same. This means while in IPL Tender bidders will have to bid separately for Digital & Broadcasting Rights. - Concern 2: As reported earlier by InsideSport, all Indian broadcasters were concerned of MATCH-TIMING for 2024 World Cup in US & Caribbean. ICC Officials during recent visit addressed those concerns. The broadcasters were assured through the ICC WC 2024 will be in different TIME ZONE, all matches will be scheduled as PER INDIAN PRIME TIME.

ICC Media Rights: Indian broadcasters concerned about T20 World Cup 2024 timings, ICC says ‘Match timings as per Indian prime time’
- ICC executives made a presentation on the Media Rights that will be released in July.
- ICC offered four-year and eight-year deals for the Media Rights from 2023.
- The ICC Media Rights is worth around $1.9 billion but the amount is expected to double due to competition.
- Unlike BCCI which offers two separate bids for television and digital rights, ICC has decided to bundle both packages.
- ICC executives met with top executives of Indian broadcasters.
- Even though there were concerns about the match timings of T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA, ICC assured that matches will be played as per India’s prime time.
- ICC also expects both India and Pakistan to visit each other for the 2025 Champions Trophy and 2026 T20 World Cup despite diplomatic tensions.
