“I will do it”, Nico Rosberg sends warning to Max Verstappen ahead of Singapore GP

Nico Rosberg plans on using his jinxing powers against Max Verstappen at the Singapore GP.

There is a new Formula 1 curse doing the rounds in 2023. And all the power for this one lies in the hands of the former world champion for Mercedes, Nico Rosberg. Every time the German driver takes a selfie with a driver or a team before a race, they falter. He has been denying it for weeks. But now, he plans on using his powers to stop Max Verstappen at the Singapore GP.

The Latest Disaster

Nico Rosberg has been denying this Formula 1 curse for weeks. However, after what happened at Monza, he had to admit it in a conversation with Sky Sports. At Monza, to maintain neutrality, he took a photo with the entire grid but captioned it as ‘Forza Ferrari’. To start things off, the entire grid had to do 3 formation laps because of Yuki Tsunoda’s mechanical failure. Then, polesitter Carlos Sainz lost the lead to Max Verstappen and second place to Sergio Perez.

Insidesport

Earlier, Nico Rosberg had posted a photo encouraging Max Verstappen on the qualifying day of the Hungarian GP. Lewis Hamilton went on to take pole for Mercedes after more than a year. However, he then supported Lewis Hamilton with a selfie on race day. The Mercedes driver lost 3 places in the first lap itself.

McLaren get on it

The world of Formula 1 is small and highly entertaining. Therefore, after the Hungarian GP debacle, McLaren posted a photo during the Belgian GP. The photo was of a poster outside their garage that stated “No Rosberg Selfies”. Clearly, Nico Rosberg has built up a reputation.

Stopping Max Verstappen at the Singapore GP

Nico Rosberg has promised to take a selfie with Max Verstappen before the Singapore GP. For everyone who is not a Max Verstappen fan, this seems like the only way he will stop winning. However, the Dutchman and his fans shouldn’t be very worried.

Max Verstappen has already broken the ‘Monza Curse’ this season. He is also on his way to breaking the Opening Race Curse which has been in play in Formula 1 since 2017. Therefore, Nico Rosberg taking a selfie with him before the Singapore GP would just be the end of another curse.
