2023 is a season that will be remembered for Red Bull and Max Verstappen. The current Formula 1 champions have been the combo to beat. While he and Christian Horner are keeping themselves humble, we might truly be witnessing something historic.
Utter Domination
Max has won the last 8 Grands Prix in a row. In the last race in Belgium, he pulled a 22s gap on his teammate Sergio Perez in just 27 laps. He has scored 93.5% of the maximum points a driver can score. He has already won 10 races in the season, with 10 more races to go.

Red Bull, under Christian Horner, has won every single point-paying session of the season. Sergio Perez’s horror run mid-season dented their numbers slightly. But they have still achieved the most consecutive race wins, and a constructor’s best start to a Formula 1 season.
“It doesn’t come easy”, says the Dutchman
Max, like most other champions, highlights how it’s not as easy as it looks. Max says he puts a lot of pressure on himself to perform and delivers the best every weekend. That consistency is what sets him apart. This is just the way he was brought up he says. This then puts pressure on the team to match his talent. And so far, they have consistently delivered. He mentions that while he is enjoying this run, it doesn’t come easy.
Does he get bored?
Winning so many races doesn’t get boring, he says. Winning is what makes the race exciting for the Dutchman. His performance can easily be gauged against that of Sergio Perez, who has consistently been slower in the same car. Some weekends are a bit easier, where everything clicks better. Some weekends are more of a struggle. That keeps him on his toes.

Trying to be better
Everyone who knows Max knows how tough he is on himself for every mistake. He strives for perfection, from both himself and Red Bull. Even on his dominant weekends, the Dutchman says he tries to understand what he could’ve done better.
Every single race, every single year, he just tries to be better than he was in the past. He says being a part of the history books was never the goal. The goal is to try and maximize every weekend. This focus on improvement is the main reason for his and Red Bull’s success, feels Max Verstappen. Such is his caliber that he even finds time to tease and engage in banter with his race engineer.
