Hugo Lloris Injury: Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur captain and legend Hugo Lloris might have played his last game for his team against Newcastle on 23rd April. The 36-year-old French goalkeeper was withdrawn from the game against Newcastle due to an injury. Now, interim manager Ryan Mason has confirmed that Lloris is out for the rest of the season. Several reports suggest that he might leave the club at the end of the season. Follow Premier League LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
Lloris has been at Spurs for 11 years and led the men in white since 2016 as their captain. The French showstopper has 447 appearances, which is the most appearance for Spurs, but now it seems like the number will come to a halt. Ryan Mason in the pre-game conference mentioned that Llloris is now out for the rest of the season.
He said, “Hugo is out for the season. We had the results back. Obviously disappointing. We feared that initially and now we’ve had the results.” However, Mason clarified that they need him as the team’s captain for the rest of the season.
Spurs had a horrific season considering the big signings they made the last summer. Some of the losses for Spurs came due to errors made by Lloris. Moreover, the team are keen on signing a new showstopper for next season, and Everton’s Jordan Pickford and David Raya of Brentford are under consideration.
