Hollywood shuts down: Two months back, Hollywood screenwriters went on strike due to a lack of proper work conditions and payout from the film producers. This has led to several ongoing movies and TV Shows slowing down their production. With the ongoing strike, several Hollywood actors have joined the regime, leading to massive losses for the movie and TV production houses. In the latest incident, Oppenheimer cast walks out of the premiere in London. Recently, UFC veteran Jake Shield gave his thought on the ongoing Hollywood Strike.

The Hollywood industry has been disrupted for the last couple of weeks due to the ongoing actors’ strike. Many blame the introduction of AI has led a lot of problems in the industry. A latest report claim production houses are proposing contracts with actors to scan them to create an AI.

Reacting to the news, UFC veteran Jake Shields name-dropped a Sci-Fi show Black Mirror in response to the post.

Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) called out this strike, representing the union of more than 160,000 actors. As per the reports, the strike has let many movie and TV actors join the regime in order to solve the big issue. As per the reports, the screenwriters and actors associated with the movie are partially paid. To put an end to it, a strike has begun. This is the first time since 1960 more than thousands of actors have protested for their rights.

On the contrary, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers counters the demands labeling it as the introduction of the streaming era. The alliance claims multiple factors have changed since the pandemic, putting them in a hard position to negotiate well.

Hollywood actors and Screenwriters concerned over AI adaption

The main objective of the strike led by actors and screenwriters is to get better working conditions and a fair share of the profits. The Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA joined hands on the same issue. The introduction of OTT platforms has led to a downfall in their net income. However, there are other concerns from both guilds.

With the adaption of AI, actors are concerned about production houses using replica and their voiceovers without their permission. On the other hand, writers are worried about AI technology used to write scripts for better adaptation. However, this issue is heavily raised in the industry, there are no active talks considered at this time as AI is still in a developing phase.

The strike continues to go on until a fair decision is made on both sides. As per the reports, a decision will be made soon in the upcoming meeting between the two guilds to talk. Meanwhile, the media reports continue to report the day-by-day damage caused by the strike leading several delays.
