According to Odisha.TV report, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prateek Singh informed that security arrangements will be put in place carefully for such a big event. The report further states that a meeting between Commissionerate Police, CISF and Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) authorities to discuss regarding route for players to the hotel and stadium.
As per the report, foreign teams along with coaches and technical staff as well as the VIPs will start arriving in Bhubaneswar from January 4. Additionally, two platoon police forces will be deployed for the airport only. Furthermore, discussions were held with taxi unions to ensure smooth travel from the airport.
speaking on the security arrangements said, DCP Prateek Singh said, “We have a detailed discussion about security arrangements for the World Cup. We reviewed all the security arrangements in detail to ensure the safety and security of the players. We will start deployment of security forces in the airport from January 3.”

Meanwhile, The director of BPIA Prasanna Pradhan while speaking to the media outlet said that the security of the players will be ensured after coordination with the Commissionerate Police.
He said, “Indian team has already arrived and reached Rourkela. Other teams will start arriving on January 4. The security of players and supporting staff will be ensured by proper coordination with Commissionerate Police.”
Team India arrive in Bhubaneshwar for Hockey World Cup
The 18-member strong Indian contingent arrived in Bhubaneshwar to take part in the Hockey World Cup. The Indian team had a training session in Bengaluru before arriving at Bhubaneshwar. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh who will be leading the team is excited to be playing in front of home fans.
Harmanpreet said, “All the players in the team are fully fit. If we will be able to work out our strategy, the team will definitely do well. Huge crowd will be expected in Odisha. We will take it positively by considering the crowd as the 12th man. There will be a new stadium and new grounds. It’s good that we have arrived earlier here. It will give us a good opportunity to get used to the conditions well.”
Team India face Spain (January 13) followed by England (January 15). The first two matches will be played in Rourkela. The final match will be played in Bhubaneswar where they will face Wales (January 19).
