Highest ODI Total: Netherland vs England Live – England went on to register a historic feat as Jos Buttler and Co bettered their own record to score the highest ODI score ever in the history of cricket. Rampant England launched a deadly attack on the Netherlands as they went on to score 498 runs at the end of 50 overs. England narrowly missed out on a big milestone, as they failed to reach 500 runs. Set to bat first after losing the toss, England took charge of the game from the second over. They experienced an early setback when Jason Roy was dismissed for just 1 run. After that began the deadly attack from the Britishers. Philip Salt and Dawid Malan went on to build strong innings.

Both Salt and Malan set the pace of the game with their respective centuries. After their dismissal came the skipper Jos Buttler who lead the charge. His carnage was later supported by Liam Livingstone who registered the second-fastest fifty in ODI history. A brilliant fifty in just 17 deliveries. At the end of the play, the scoreboard read 498/4, which meant England bettered their own record and now have set the bar for the highest ever runs score in ODI cricket.

  • England went on to register the highest ever runs scored by a team in the history of ODI cricket. 498 is now the current highest score in ODI.
  • England broke their previous highest record of 481/6 which they registered against Australia in 2018.
  • The top 3 highest runs score in ODI are all made by England. 498/4 vs Netherlands, 481 vs Australia. 444/3 vs Pakistan.
  • Liam Livingstone came late to the party and went on to record a milestone. He scored the second-fastest fifty in ODI cricket and became the fastest English batter to score an ODI fifty. He reached 54 in just 17 deliveries. AB de Villiers holds the record for the fastest ODI fifty in just 16 balls.
  • England skipper Jos Buttler today, went on to register the second-fastest century for England in ODIs.
  • England also broke the World Record for the most number of sixes hit in a single inning of an ODI game. They hit 26 sixes against Netherlands. The previous best was 25 which England hit against Afghanistan.
  • England became the second team ever in the history of ODI cricket where three batters score a century each. Jos Buttler, Philip Salt, and Dawid Malan scored tons for England. The only other team to have achieved this feat twice is South Africa.
