The Islanders came out strong in the first half and nearly took the lead in the fifth minute. With a perfectly placed through pass, Jorge Pereyra sent Bipin Singh into the area. The winger could only attempt to ripple the net from outside. Ten minutes later, Chinglensana Singh’s direct header gave Hyderabad its first opportunity on goal.

Mumbai City FC scored the opening goal on the counter in the 23rd minute. Bipin sped down the left wing before firing a low pass into the area, which Chinglensana diverted into his own goal. After Lalengmawia Ralte took down Bartholomew Ogbeche inside the area and awarded a penalty. Hyderabad FC equalised in the final minute of first-half stoppage time. Joao Victor equalised the score from the spot.
Halicharan Narzary, a 24-year-old winger, received a pin-point pass from the player, who then effortlessly slid the ball past the goalkeeper. Less than five minutes later, Laxmikant Kattimani made a spectacular stop on Bipin’s attempt to deny The Islanders an equaliser.

Once more, parity was established in the 85th minute. Bipin redirected the ball towards Stewart’s direction. The replacement Alberto Noguera side-footed the ball into the goal from close range after the striker sent it through to him. In the last moments of the game, both teams searched for a victory but finally settled for a point.
