Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been a quiet soul since the defeat to Australia in the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad on November 19th. The defeat after going into the finals as an unbeaten team must have hurt Rohit Sharma, who withdrew himself from the public eye. However, a week after the World Cup final, Rohit Sharma returned to the social media with a cute Instagram story.

Rohit Sharma had an unforgettable finishing as the second highest scorer of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, and leading India unbeaten to the finals. He scored 597 runs in 11 innings in the World Cup at an average of 54.27. More than the average, it is the strike rate that is over 125 that helped batsmen after him.

The Indian skipper assumed the role of a pinch-hitter in the World Cup. The opener provided numerous fantastic starts to India in the tournament. His quickfire 40s in World Cup enabled India’s middle order with a solid platform to build on.

However, another 47 runs off 31 balls in the final was not enough to help India’s cause. The final must have left a bitter taste in Rohit Sharma’s mouth. He refrained himself from posting on social media altogether.

However, one week after the final, the Indian skipper posted an Instagram story. Rohit is presumably on a holiday with family after being rested for T20I series against Australia.

His post captured what appeared to be Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh from behind, walking around in an unknown location.

The Indian skipper will probably return to action for the country some time during India’s South Africa tour. It is a positive sign that Rohit is recharging himself ahead of a busy schedule. Indian fanatics would hope Rohit picks up from where he left.
