Harry Kane could be making more money, on top of his salary at Bayern Munich. His contract contains a specific condition that could result in him receiving additional compensation on top of his salary.
According to the Daily Mail, the England captain, who moved from Tottenham for £86.4 million in the summer, has had an incredible start to life in Germany. He has been scoring goals left, right, and center for Bayern. It seems as though this form will also translate into money for the Englishman.
Harry Kane could be pocketing a huge bonus
In just 16 appearances across all competitions, Harry Kane has scored an incredible 21 goals. This includes eight in his last three Bundesliga outings. In addition, the 30-year-old has contributed seven assists. Of his 21 goals, three have come from hat-tricks.
Additionally, Harry Kane will get a bonus if he plays in a particular amount of goals this season, according to German publication BILD. According to the article, Harry Kane is eligible for an additional incentive payment of €250,000 (£217,541) if he scores more than 40 “scorer points” (a measure of his combined goals and assists) during the current season.
With 21 goals and 7 assists so far this season, Harry Kane is on 28 goal involvements. This means that throughout the remaining games of the season, England’s all-time leading goalscorer will need just 13 more goals or assists to fulfill the contract requirement. Kane, who is being paid £400,000 a week by Bayern Munich, has contributed to Thomas Tuchel’s team’s strong start to the campaign.
They have won the Bundesliga for the previous 11 seasons and they are still unbeaten. They are now not at the top of the league. The German powerhouses trail early-season surprise team Bayer Leverkusen by two points.
