Hardik Pandya ruled out of World Cup games against England, Sri Lanka

Hardik Pandya will continue to miss 2 WC games as the all-rounder has not begun bowling yet at NCA. He is expected to be fit against SA

In a massive piece of bad news for team India, Hardik Pandya won’t be available for the World Cup games against England and Sri Lanka. The all-rounder who suffered an ankle injury against Bangladesh is currently at National Cricket Academy (NCA) and is undergoing rehabilitation. The 30-year-old has still not begun bowling in the nets.

While InsideSport earlier had reported that Pandya might play as a specialist batter in the match against England, the management has ruled out that possibility. The management also does not want to rush the all-rounder back into the team, as India are well poised to make it to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

“Team India vice-captain Hardik Pandya sustained an injury to his left ankle while fielding on his own bowling during India’s match against Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The all-rounder was taken for scans and is advised to rest. He will be under the constant supervision of the BCCI Medical Team,”BCCI secretary Jay Shah had said in its statement, as reported by Indian Express.
