India won by a record-breaking 168 runs thanks to Shubman Gill’s highest T20I score of 126 in Ahmedabad. New Zealand collapsed for 66 in retaliation. Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, and Shivam Mavi each took two wickets, while Hardik Pandya scalped four. India prevailed 2-1 to win the series.
In the post-match press conference, while talking about his batting style, Hardik Pandya opened up a little. He said: “I have always enjoyed hitting sixes. But that is life, I have to evolve. I have to take another part where I have always believed in partnership. And I want to give my team and other people more calmness and assurance that at least I am here. I have played more games than any of those guys, so I have experience. It is more about where I have batted, I have excelled at taking pressure and swallowing the pressure.”
“While Batting I don’t mind playing the role that Mahi used to play. At the time I use to hit sixes out of the park. But since he is gone all that responsibility has come down to me. I don’t mind since we are getting the result,” added Hardik.
