Gujarat Giants have retained their flavour of saffron on the jersey akin to other Adani-backed franchises. Mumbai Indians launched their jersey on Saturday. The orange jersey has a lioness embossed on the right. As per the team, it depicts the passion and enthusiasm of the players. But what caught the eye was Gardner written on the back of the new jersey.
Who will lead Gujarat Giants? – However, with the jersey launched, all eyes are on their announcement of captaincy. While launching the jersey, GG have hinted at Ashleigh Gardner. The World No 1 all-rounder from Australia has been in terrific form.
Gujarat have options in Ashleigh Gardner, Deandra Dotin, Beth Mooney apart from Sneh Rana. However, it is likely that either of Gardner or Mooney will captain the team in the WPL 2023.
Beth Mooney did herself a favour by smashing unbeaten 74 in the Women’s T20 World Cup final. However, Gardner will be in high demand considering her status in the team.
