Free Fire Unban in Bangladesh?

Garena the publisher of popular battle royale game Free Fire, posted an hiring for Senior Associate, Esports Operation. Check out the full Job Description below:

  • Operate Free Fire Esports Organizer program by providing support to external tournaments
  • Organize and operate Free Fire official tournaments
  • Maintain and update the esports resource database including organizer, caster, and media to support the growth of Free Fire tournaments

This development suggests a possible upcoming unban of Free Fire in the country. The EWC is scheduled for June-August 2025 in Riyadh, while FFWS pre-season leagues begin in February 2025. A timely unban would allow Bangladeshi teams to participate in these prestigious tournaments.

What about Free Fire India?

While this development offers hope for Free Fire’s return to Bangladesh, there are currently no official announcements or reports regarding the game’s re-release in India. The wait for Free Fire India continues, leaving fans eager for an official release date. While the game was initially slated for a September 5, 2023 launch, Garena has yet to provide a concrete timeline. Recent hiring activity, however, has reignited speculation within the gaming community.

Garena, the developer behind Free Fire, has posted several job openings on LinkedIn, including roles in Data Analysis, Marketing, Esports, and Strategic Operations. These hirings, specifically targeted for the Indian market, have fueled speculation that the company is gearing up for the highly anticipated Free Fire India launch.
