The event will center around event-themed Field Research tasks, offering increased encounters with Teddiursa, Cubchoo, Pancham, and Stufful. Notably, these featured Pokémon will have a heightened chance of appearing as Shiny variants, offering players a prime opportunity to expand their Shiny collections.
Beyond Field Research, several Pokémon will see increased wild spawns. Trainers can expect to encounter Sentret, Slakoth, Bidoof, Minccino, and Bunnelby more frequently. Lucky players may even stumble upon Shiny versions of these wild Pokémon.

For dedicated trainers seeking even more encounters, a paid Timed Research option will be available for US$2.00 (or the equivalent local currency). This Timed Research will challenge players to complete Field Research tasks, allowing them to encounter their preferred featured Pokémon. A unique feature allows players to select a second featured Pokémon for a follow-up Timed Research after completing the first.
It’s crucial to remember that this Timed Research is time-sensitive, expiring on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. local time. Trainers must complete all tasks and claim rewards before this deadline. Tickets for the Timed Research can be gifted to Great Friends or higher within Pokémon GO, though all purchases are non-refundable.
Niantic has also confirmed that trainers participating in the Pokémon GO City Safari on March 29 will not miss out on the event. The Fuzzy Buddy Research Day Field Research will take precedence during the designated event hours, ensuring all players can participate. Prepare for a day filled with furry friends and Shiny hunting!
