DreamHack x Hyderabad Comic Con 2024 Day 1 wrapped up featuring amazing esports tournaments for multiple titles.

Hyderabad’s biggest celebration of gaming and pop culture kicked off with DreamHack x Hyderabad Comic Con 2024. Three days long event is taking place at the Hitex Exhibition Centre. Uniting the worlds of esports and fandom under one roof, this three-day extravaganza brought together gamers, creators, pop culture enthusiasts, and families for an unforgettable experience.

DreamHack x Hyderabad Comic Con 2024 Day 1

The stellar turnout for Day 1 of DreamHack highlighted the immense passion of India’s gaming community, while the action-packed esports tournaments thrilled fans across the Snapdragon Pro Series, Pan Fest, and KO Fight Night stages. At the KONAMI Zone, gaming legends Jonathan and Techno Gamerz locked horns in a high-octane eFootball showdown, leaving audiences cheering for every move.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, Hyderabad Comic Con celebrated Day 1 with exciting comic book debuts by Holy Cow Entertainment, Bullseye Press, and Savio Mascarenhas, along with the launch of The Adventures of Kikiboo. Nostalgia-filled sessions with Amar Chitra Katha and the lively Comic Con Jukebox: Anime Playlist with Daisuki delighted fans of all ages.  Comedy sets by  Azeem BanatwalLa and  The Internet Said So Catch – Aadar Malik, Neville Shah, Kautuk Srivastava, and Varun Thakur kept the crowd entertained.

The day ended with a massive cosplay contest and the Indian Championship of Cosplay 2025 Hyderabad Qualifier, where the city’s most creative talents took the stage.

Day 1 delivered exhilarating moments from some of the biggest esports competitions, as fans cheered on top teams and players at the Snapdragon Pro Series, Pan Fest, and KO Fight Night stages. These events showcased incredible talent and sportsmanship, giving fans an exciting preview of what’s to come in the semi-finals and finals.

  • Snapdragon Pro Series (Call of Duty: Mobile) – Godlike Esports and Team XLR8 were the standout teams in the initial rounds, securing two wins each in their group games.
  • OMEN VALORANT Campus Quest Season 2: As one of DreamHack India’s marquee events, the final rounds of the OMEN VALORANT Campus Quest Season 2 brought together some of the most talented university VALORANT teams from across the country. Amigos Esports dominated Day 1 with two wins in two matches.
  • KO Fight Night (Street Fighter VI): Nurpu (Maharaja) emerged as the top performer of the day out of 32 participants, cementing their spot in the finals.

In addition to these, the Chess tournament in the Rapid format kicked off alongside exciting Retro and Board Games tournaments, drawing enthusiasts from all age groups. 

The Meet & Greet Zone was a Day 1 highlight, featuring gaming personalities like Ketan Patel (K18), Harmandeep Singh (Mavi), Ankkita Chauhan (AnkkitaC), and Sunny Jha (Pitaji Plays), who connected with fans through stories, humor, and gaming insights.
