French Open 2023: World number two Aryna Sabalenka has announced that she has withdrawn from next week’s Charleston Open after picking up an injury in Miami Open 2023. The Australian Open champion was stunned 6-4 6-4 by unseeded Sorana Cirstea in the Miami Open 2023 quarter-finals on Wednesday after picking up the injury earlier in the tournament. Sabalenka did not specify the nature of the problem and tweeted:

Sabalenka has had a superb start to the season, winning the Adelaide title before capturing her maiden Grand Slam crown at The Australian Open 2023 by beating Elena Rybakina in the final.
Sabalenka has reached the final in Indian Wells 2023 as well but lost to Rybakina.
Sabalenka and Rybakina have already faced each other twice this year. While Sabalenka won the bigger title at the Australian Open, Rybakina took her revenge the Indian Wells final. While, Sabalenka may be out the race for a little while, Rybakina has the golden opportuniyu to win the ‘Sunshine Double’ as she beat Jessica Pegula on her way to the final.
