Frank Lampard Chelsea: After a streak of 6 defeats, Chelsea have finally won a game. This was also the first win for Frank Lampard after he took over the job of interim manager at the club. After a 3-1 win over Bournemouth today, they are now mathematically safe from the relegation zone. This put the travelling fans in a mood as they started chanting “we are staying up”. Fans even took over the internet and posted memes on Frank Lampard for finally getting a win. Follow Premier League LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Sitting at the 12th position in the league table with 39 points, Chelsea had 5 games in hand to turn their fate around. If they managed to keep their devastating streak of defeats, they could have fallen in the relegation zone. However, as they travelled to Bournemouth, they came out with a 3-1 win. Mathematically, even if they don’t win their next four games, they will not be relegated. This came as a relief to the fans worldwide. The fans who travelled to the Vitality Stadium started singing “we are staying up” in the last moments of the game.

Chelsea have sacked 2 managers by now in this season alone. Frank Lampard took over from 2nd manager, Graham Potter in April. Since then, he managed 6 matches and lost all 6. Fans have taken over the internet to point out how he has managed to avoid a 007. That is to say, 0 wins, 0 draws, and 7 defeats. One fan wrote, “I’m deeply saddened to inform you all that we lost our first managerial 007. The most expected event in history of the game came to a disappointing end when Chelsea got their first win under Frank Lampard it’s 1.0.6.”

Another fan wrote, “Is it safe to say Frank Lampard is the best manager in the world? Chelsea fans should be grateful for him.” A third fan wrote, “Today is such a historic day for our nation. Frank Lampard won a football match. Tell your kids about this.” The fans seemed to be in a joking mood, but Lampard appreciated the travelling fans who were singing. He said, “I appreciate that we had a moment at the end of the field where everyone feels good for a day. I think that’s important to build a bond between players and fans.”

He was also relieved after the game ended in Chelsea’s favour after so long. He said, “They should enjoy it and we’re happy because when you don’t have that feeling for a while, it gradually knocks you down… Today was a nice small step forward.” He also talked about the players going through a tough time because of the bad streak they are going through. He has no intention of taking his eyes off the ball now that he has his first win. They still have four games left to play and as per Lampard, they cannot take their “foot off the pedal”.

Chelsea have some of this season’s most important matches left to play. They will face Manchester City, Manchester United, and Newcastle United in their last three matches. Their next match before they take on the giants is against relegation-facing Nottingham Forest. If they manage another win during that match, it could boost their confidence. Lampard had the chance to make his job permanent, but the results are not in his favour. Chelsea are looking for a new manager and it will be interesting to see what changes he brings before starting over next season.
