FPAI Awards 2023: FPAI Indian Football Awards 2023: On May 13, 2023, Gangtok, Sikkim, hosted the Football Players Association of India’s Indian Football Awards 2023 and AGM 2021–2022 events. The prize for women’s player of the year went to Dangmei Grace. Sivasakthi Narayanan, a wonderkid with Bengaluru FC, was named the Young Player of the Year. Mumbai City FC, the victors of the Indian Super League Shield, was represented by Des Buckingham, Lalianzuala Chhangte, and Greg Stewart. Guests of honour Shri Aditya Golay, (MLA), Ms. Chungchung Bhutia, President, Sikkim Football Association, and Mr. Bhaichung Bhutia, Founding Past President, FPAI were among the luminaries in attendance for the occasion. The many dignitaries present were also felicitated and presented Mementoes for their help and contribution to Indian Football.

AFC Asian Cup 2023 Draw: ‘We will fight every step of the way’…

The Awards were given out at the halftime break of a game between the Sikkim XI and the FPAI XI that was played at the Paljor stadium. The players listed below were recognised based on the amount of votes they earned from their professional peers in the I League and ISL. Voting for the 2022–23 season took place while FPAI members visited the teams. This year, we also included women in the award-process, and we were happy to do so. The FPAI XI defeated the Sikkim All Stars XI 2-0 in the match.
