Imola GP: Formula 1: Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is a force to reckon with when he takes the wheel, even in a virtual environment. The Dutchman is no less than a straight up genius when cruising around the tracks. Most recently, fans witnessed this sight when he took up iRacing Nurburgring 24 Hours along with his sim racing outfit Team Redline friends. Follow 1 Updates with InsideSport.IN.

The two-time F1 World champion did not flinch while outpacing his opponents. Though driving a wholly different racing machinery to F1, his precision was the one we often see on tracks.

During the race, his fellow drivers decided to bump him off the track, using the most dubious of means. However, he cruised though all the crash attempts and managed to keep the four wheels on the track. It reminded the fans of his skillful drive in Miami GP a week ago where he overtook 8 cars to come home in the first place.

Max Verstappen is known for his exceptional acumen and pace while charging through the mid-field like a pro. For the number of times he has done it on actual tracks, it wasn’t a surprise to see him do the same in a virtual environment. Through he drove exceptionally, the Dutchman and his teammate could only reach the third step of the podium.

Sim iRacing comes as a replacement to F1 Imola GP for Max Verstappen

The Red Bull luminary Max Verstappen was supposed to be starting the Imola GP weekend today. However, owing to the threatening weather and territorial rains, the race stands cancelled by the FIA. Many were expecting this weekend to be a favorable one for the Milton Keynes team. At the same time, Verstappen would have been looking to win the race and consolidate his championship lead. The last two races at this venue were both won by the Dutchman.

However, owing to the unnatural circumstances, there was no option but to comply with the designated mandate by the higher authority. Verstappen, responding to the same, sent his wishes to people in Emilia Romagna and deemed the decision to cancel the GP as rightful one.

“Safety and help for the people who really need it is the most important thing. Care has to go there first. So it seems only logical to me that we will not race at times like this”, Verstappen told De Telegraaf:
