This will be the first for the German legend since bidding farewell to the sport in 2022. Vettel will once again don his race helmet and take the wheel at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Sebastian Vettel to take Ayrton Senna’s McLaren for a spin
Vettel, being one of the highest-rated drivers of all time, has an enthralling and exclusive collection of cars named to him. These do not just include a wide range of high-performance commercial vehicles, but also racing cars belonging to the stalwarts of the sport. For this year’s Goodwill Festival of Speed, the German legend is expected to take historical cars for a spin, all of which, running on sustainable fuel. One car confirmed by the organizers so far is former world champion Ayrton Senna’s 1993 McLaren MP4/8.
Vettel excited to hop back into the classics
In 2012, Sebastian Vettel drove his championship-winning RB-7 in the event alongside teammate Mark Webber at Goodwood Festival. After all these years, the relentless and evergreen Sebastian Vettel shared his thoughts on returning to the event.
“It’s great to be coming back to Goodwood after all these years. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of some of my most memorable cars which will be running on sustainable fuel over the weekend,” said Vettel as reported by Race.com.
“I’m a passionate racer and it’s important to me that we continue to enjoy driving iconic racing cars today and in the future, but that we do so in a responsible way,” added the 35-year-old.
