Sebastian Vettel shocked the entire Formula 1 world when he announced his retirement last year. This year, he announced a reunion of sorts with Red Bull for a Nurburgring event. His fans will be delighted to hear that the German will be making an appearance at the Japanese GP. Despite Aston Martin being his last team, he will most likely be in the Red Bull garage.
A Shock Retirement
Sebastian Vettel’s retirement sent the Formula 1 world into a frenzy. Since it happened just before the Summer Break, the driver market went into overdrive. A lot of driver moves were made, and Sebastian Vettel’s seat at Aston Martin was taken by a young driver named Fernando Alonso.
After his retirement, Sebastian Vettel started driving like a man possessed. His Aston Martin started to show glimpses of the pace it unleashed this year. He wringed every inch of performance out of it. Arguably, his most grueling performance of the season came at the Japanese GP. He battled Fernando Alonso till the line, with mere milliseconds separating the two living legends.

Nurburgring Runs
Currently, Sebastian Vettel is driving his RB7 around the Nurburgring Nordschleife with Red Bull as part of an event. His love for the sport is still there and he is still part of the GPDA (Grand Prix Drivers Association). Daniel Ricciardo was supposed to partner Sebastian Vettel at this event. However, David Coulthard has replaced the Aussie after his crash at Zandvoort.
An Emotional Return to Suzuka
As mentioned earlier, Sebastian Vettel had one of the best races of his season at Suzuka last year. However, throughout the weekend, the Japanese GP saw an outpour of love and affection for the German driver.
The photos and videos from the weekend look surreal. It just shows how much of an impact Sebastian Vettel had on the world of Formula 1. His prime was one of the best primes in Formula 1 history.
