Saudi Arabia GP Live: Lewis Hamilton was eliminated from the Q1 session and will start at 16th position tomorrow: The seven-time Formula 1 champion, Lewis Hamilton has failed to qualify for the Q2 session. He was eliminated after the Q1 session itself. Mercedes have had a difficult start to the race weekend after failing to find pace in all the free practice sessions. Lewis Hamilton has started in the front row of the race grid for a couple of seasons now. Since he joined Mercedes, he saw himself in the front row of the grid. But, this is something even Lewis had not thought of.

Hamilton has been knocked out for the first time in his career since the 2017 Brazilian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, the Brit driver will now start in the 16th position, the first time since the 2017 Brazilian Grand Prix.

This is the worst start Hamilton will have after having a couple of successful seasons in Formula 1. He was really struggling to push his Mercedes W13 challenger to the front of the grid.

Mercedes was relatively off the pace. However, they have struggled this weekend to find any sort of real pace. Meanwhile, his new teammate George Russell finished the Q1 session in the fourth spot.

In the 2017 Brazilian Grand Prix, Hamilton had lost the back end of his car with over-steer. It happened due to a driver error. He then retired from the Q1 session without even setting a lap time.

But, he changed his gearbox and power unit and started the race from the pit lane itself. As everybody knows what Lewis can do, he still managed to finish in the fourth spot in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Hamilton had pushed his car to P15 position but was knocked out as Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll posted better timings. Mercedes and Lewis have lots to think about as they go into the race. They have to solve their issues as quickly as possible to find themselves fighting for the championship.
