Red Bull’s season of breaking records, breaking trophies, and total domination

Red Bull has had a stellar 2023 season so far. The constructor has come out on top in every single sprint and race so far. They will look to continue their streak after the summer break.

Red Bull has utterly dominated the 2023 Formula 1 season. It has won every single sprint and race so far and has largely been unchallenged. Max Verstappen has the clear lead over Sergio Perez in the drivers’ championship. This has made the life of Christian Horner pretty simple. Let’s take a look at their numbers in this stellar season.

Their Season So Far

Red Bull came into 2023 on the back of a dominant second half of the 2022 season. They were challenged by Ferrari in the first half but won every race except one in the second half. What followed was something Christian Horner said no one expected in their wildest dreams. Adrian Newey designed a monster.

Red Bull has won every single points-paying session of the season. This includes 12 races and 3 sprints. 5 of the 12 victories have been 1-2s. They have broken the record for most consecutive wins by a constructor: both overall and in-season. They have achieved the best start to a season by a constructor.

Driver Performances

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen has run away with the drivers’ championship after a brief challenge by Sergio Perez. He has won 10 out of the 12 races, the last 8 of them in a row. He is on course to break and set a lot of new Formula 1 world records in 2023. The other driver for Red Bull has been less fortunate.

Sergio Perez started this year hoping to challenge Max for the title. After the first 4 races, he was just 6 points shy of first place. However, he had a horror run and did not make Q3 in 5 consecutive races. While he managed to come back in the last 2 races, he now stares at a 125-point deficit to his Red Bull teammate.

How has the car evolved?

The Red Bull is miles ahead of everyone in race pace. Their qualifying pace has also been strong, just not as dominant. Whenever others try to bite into their advantage, they have taken a step forward. Every upgrade they have put on their car has worked.

Predictions for the rest of the season

Red Bull shows no signs of slowing down. As it shifts focus to its 2024 challenger, teams might be able to challenge it in the latter races. However, the combination of Red Bull and Max Verstappen is just too hard to beat right now.
