Most Consecutive F1 Wins: Max Verstappen equals Sebastian Vettel with 9 F1 Wins

Max Verstappen has done something few thought was possible. He has equaled Sebastian Vettel’s record of 9 consecutive race victories.

Red Bull have had an amazing year in Formula 1 in 2023. However, it’s their star driver Max Verstappen who has headlined this season. His teammate Sergio Perez took 2 victories in the first 4 races of the season. However, since then it has been Max Verstappen dominance. At the Dutch GP, he equaled the record for the most consecutive Grand Prix wins by a driver, previously held solely by Sebastian Vettel.

Sebastian Vettel’s insane run

A change of compounds mid-season in 2013 made Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel go on a charge. Lewis Hamilton had just won his first race for Mercedes in Hungary before the summer break. That would be the last race won by anyone that season not named Sebastian Vettel. The German driver blitzed the entire field as he won every single race after the summer break.

The German started his winning streak at the Belgian GP and kept it till the end of the season. It is extremely plausible that if there were more races that year, he would have won them as well. Such was his dominance. No one thought such a streak could be replicated. That is until another Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen, arrived in this Formula 1 season in his RB19.

Max Verstappen equals the record

Max Verstappen has been smashing all kinds of records this season in his Red Bull. The RB19 is a truly dominant car that hasn’t been challenged yet. Within the team, Sergio Perez couldn’t keep up with the Dutchman after Miami.

30th April was the last day that Max Verstappen didn’t stand at the top step of the podium. Since then, the Dutchman has annihilated the field, making winning a habit. However, even during this impressive run of form, everyone expected either him or Red Bull to make a mistake.
