Max Verstappen remains blunt about the Las Vegas GP, claims ‘There for the show’

Max Verstappen has been blunt about a lot of innovations from Formula 1. Most recently, when asked about the Las Vegas GP, he gave a very blunt response.

Max Verstappen is currently doing almost all of the winning in Formula 1. Red Bull has given him a monster of a car, and he is driving the wheels off of it. However, he has often been critical of the increasing demands of the sport. Recently, Max Verstappen talked about the Las Vegas GP to the media, including RacingNews365. When asked about all the hype around it, Max Verstappen had a very blunt answer.

On The Show

Max Verstappen was critical of the track layout of the Formula 1 Las Vegas GP. The Red Bull driver said, “First of all, we are there more for the show than the race itself, looking at the layout of the circuit. I’m not actually that much into that, I’m more: ‘I’ll go there, do my thing and be gone’. “I’ll deal with that once I arrive to the track. I mean, there’s still a lot to do.”

On The Racing

Max Verstappen was extremely matter-of-fact about the racing aspect of the Las Vegas GP. He said, “I still need to go on the simulator. I still don’t even know the track, to be honest, the last time I tried it on the F1 game, I think I hit more walls than I was going straight, so, let’s hope that’s not the case when I start driving there.

“It’s going to be very different to [Brazil], very low temperatures, and of course at night.

“We have no experience there. We don’t know the track grip, it is all new, so maybe it will give a few surprises.”

On The Value

Max Verstappen gave a short and succinct answer to the value that the Las Vegas GP adds to Formula 1. The Red Bull driver said, “It depends for whom and for what.

“In terms of racing spectacle, maybe not, but maybe in terms of potential partners for F1, and the whole show around it – but again, I’m not into it.”

We can be sure that the Red Bull driver will not be on the Christmas Card List of Stefano Domenicali or anyone else in Formula 1 Management.
