The Las Vegas GP is finally happening. With so much buzz and excitement around the event, let’s take a step back and answer some basic questions about the race so we all know what to expect.

Formula 1, Liberty Media, and the streets of Las Vegas have combined to give us the greatest show on earth. The Las Vegas GP is well and truly here, and we cannot contain our excitement. While there are a lot of doubts over the scheduling and the weather, the hype remains unparalleled. Liberty Media has pulled out all the stops to ensure that the Las Vegas GP is a success. Max Verstappen will be looking to add another circuit to his winning list. Here is everything you need to know about the event.

Where’s the event being held?

The Las Vegas GP is taking place right in the heart of the entertainment capital. It will take center stage for the entire weekend.

Will the drivers race on the Strip?

The city has an iconic 1.4-mile stretch called the Las Vegas Boulevard, popularly called the Strip. The Las Vegas GP will feature cars actually racing on the strip, passing several iconic landmarks every lap.

What else should you know?

The Las Vegas GP is a street track, but it has a few permanent features. Liberty Media is promoting the event itself and has already signed a 10-year deal. Therefore, they brought a piece together with Formula 1 beside the track.

They have used this piece of land to incorporate a vast pit building, team garages, and other areas like hospitality. There is a luxurious Paddock Club as well. The pit straight and the first four corners of the Las Vegas GP pass through this area.

When does the race start?

To get the full effect of the city’s nightlife, the Las Vegas GP starts late at night. Keep in mind that this is a Saturday race for the locals.

The Qualifying for the Las Vegas GP actually starts at midnight local time. For Indians, this means a 1:30 pm start on the 18th of November (Saturday). The race starts at 10 pm local time, so an 11:30 am start on the 19th of November (Sunday).
