Japan is known for its amazing Formula 1 track, passionate fans, and innovation. Their innovation will be on display during the podium ceremony of the Japanese GP. The podium finishers will get a trophy that will light up with the colours of their national flag when kissed. Max Verstappen and Red Bull will love to get their hands on this trophy and McLaren will look to challenge them for it.
The Trophy Design
The Japanese GP trophies have been ideated by Lenovo. The title sponsors wanted to get some modern technology in the podium ceremony of Formula 1. They have been designed by the globally renowned design company Pininfarina.
The trophy is designed to imitate the intake of a Formula 1 car, along with incorporating the Lenovo logo. When the driver picks it up at the Japanese GP podium, it will light up. The trophy will indicate the special area designated as “Kiss Me”. When the driver does the needful, the trophy will light up with the colours from the driver’s national flag.
The Trophies will be programmed before the Japanese GP podium to ensure each driver has the correct national flag.
