With just 60 minutes left in the weekend to hone their set-ups ahead of qualifying and the race on Sunday, the drivers made their way out on to a much greener Hungaroring track to the one they left yesterday, with heavy rain having hit the circuit overnight.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc topped the second practice with a best time of 1:17.686. He pipped McLaren’s Lando Norris by 0.015s in a close battle. He will now look to continue the momentum on Saturday.

Mercedes, on the other hand, had two contrasting sessions at Hungaroring. While George Russell topped the FP1, the Brit driver was no where in FP2.

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished 16th and 20th, respectively, on the timesheet. They will have a tough task on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in his first dry running with AlphaTauri, Daniel Ricciardo trailed his new teammate Tsunoda and ended up 14th on the final timesheet.

The Qualifying session will see the new Alternative Tyre Allocation rule, wjich will see driver’s dry tyre sets reduced to two. Notably, Q1 requires the use of hard tyres, Q2 mandates medium tyres, and Q3 calls for soft tyres.
