Former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori is all set to join Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as their new head coach in IPL. Vettori has a decade-long list of accolades to his name as coach. However, not many know the former left-arm spinner’s list of achievements as both an international and franchise coach. So, here are the teams Daniel Vettori coached:
Daniel Vettori as coach in IPL
Daniel Vettori has been involved with the Indian Premier League as a coach since 2014. The former left-arm spinner entered the IPL as the head coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was with RCB for four years, from 2014 to 2018.
During these years, RCB enjoyed great success under him. He led the franchise to the playoffs in 2015 and the final in 2016, but failed to clinch the title in both years.

The former New Zealand skipper started his career as an international coach with the Bangladesh Cricket Team. Vettori was appointed Bangladesh’s spin coach in July 2019, a role he continued until 2021.
In May 2022, Vettori joined the Australian Cricket Team as the assistant coach and spin bowling coach. Vettori enjoyed great success in Tests, winning the World Test Championship Final against India and drawing the Ashes 2023 series 2-2.
However, Australia failed to make it past the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The Kiwi still holds the position and is likely to continue till the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

Vettori’s first gig as a coach came with the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash in 2015. Vettori was the head coach from 2015 to 2018, but failed to take the side to the title. During his years with the franchise, they only made it to the playoffs once, in 2016.
In April 2021, Vettori joined the Birmingham Phoenix in the Men’s The Hundred as interim coach. He took the side to the finals in 2021, was announced as head coach in 2022, and continues to manage the side in 2023.
In August 2021, Vettori was appointed head coach of the Barbados Royals (formerly known as the Barbados Tridents) franchise in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The former spinner did not have much success in the CPL, as the Royals finished the season at the bottom of the table. Vettori was then replaced by Trevor Penney in 2022.
